Mary Christmas

You know whose a great biblical example of faith? Mary, Jesus' mom. Read Luke 1:26-37 and I'll explain. Go ahead, I can wait.

So, Mary gets a visit from the angel Gabriel who has a message for her
He tells her (my paraphrase here) "Mary! You are so blessed! God sees you as soooooo special!"

Mary's like "Huh?"

Gabriel explains to her that God saw something special in her and planned to use her to bring His Son, Jesus into the world.

Mary has a choice as to how she will react to this news. On the one hand she could have gone the "I'm not worthy!" route or on the other hand the "Yepp, me. Mary got it goin' on!" route. Those are the two ditches on either side of her proverbial road. Mary chose the middle of the road (faithful and wise, good combo) and asked an intelligent question, "How?". See, she really didn't understand how this could happen in the natural, she had never been with a man, how was she going to get pregnant?

Gabriel presented to Mary the supernatural solution that God was going to make it happen. That's a word from the throne! Here's another one, in verse 37 Gabriel makes a statement. He says "For with God nothing will be impossible." Mary took hold of that statement with both hands so to speak and declared her faith by saying "Behold the maid servant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." That's faith right there.

God made it happen but it was Mary's faith that brought it about. That's the special thing God saw in her. He couldn't do in her life what He wanted unless she had gotten on board with His plan. And it proved true that she was blessed all her life. She got to raise Jesus and her faith had an influence on His life! "What?" you say?

Mark 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."

Don't you think maybe His mom told him the story of how Gabriel appeared and told her this very thing? Oh, and how it proved true in her life?

When God comes through for you because your faith allowed Him to operate in your situation, feel free to testify!

Mary Christmas! (Lol)
